The problem with the youth of today – care of Leeds Locksmiths

How often do we hear people moaning about the youth of today – whether it be for their language, their untidyness, their lay about behaviour or their inability to find jobs?

Let me say – my experience is far different. When I set my business up, if someone would have said you need a couple of guys working for you – in particular a Locksmith Manchester I would have thought ‘yeah okay’ a couple of middle aged fellas covering the areas etc etc – and we’d be good to go.

I hunted high and low for that ‘ideal candidate’ – and it wasn’t until the local job centre suggested searching for a yonger trainee that things turned around.

I hired a 21 year old guy that had been out of employment through no fault of his own for nearly a year – due to the economic down turn, he’d been made redundant and had tried everything from walking the streets, knocking shop to shop to attending interviews for care homes (a far cry from his joinry trained background) to try and get employment. He once said that had stopped going out ‘clubbing’ becuse he was too embarrassed to say he was unemployed…

I took him on – on a trainee basis – the guy is probably one of the most hardworking guys I have come across, eager to learn, thankful for the chance, and best of all a fantasic Locksmiths Manchester.

I now employ 4 ex job centre guys – and all have been much more than a young lad!

Give the youth of today a chance!
