You might have perhaps  got word of  Warhammer and Warhammer 40k, and should you have  not really then it’s likely  you have seen the outstanding  laptop  game Dawn of War.

the makers are the masterminds behind these epic franchises. As the biggest tabletop battle games company on the globe, Games Workshop may also be responsible for the greater relatively new games according to the lord of the Rings trilogy.

A Little Record

Warhammer Fantasy Battle was the 1st game to become set throughout Warhammers alternate middle earth realm.  Since its release in 1983 Warhammer has inspired generations of table top gamers and their miniatures, starting them to painting and collecting the Warhammer miniature armies that represent battlefield armies. One of the most searched army is the warhammer 40k space marine.

Warhammer 40k is Games Workshops futuristic version from the original game, set in the far future.  Post apocalyptic societies find it a challenge to control the galaxy, finding strange alien races and evil around every corner.  That franchise was dropped at wide media attention when using the launch of Dawn of War over the PC in 2004.

Warhammer figures Fantasy inspires amazing artwork.  Books produced as part of the worlds background feature stunning illustrations.  Fans from the franchise also produce spectacular artwork of their own – often rivalling the official artists.

A costly Hobby

Warhammer has progressed massively from those conception. Games Workshops commercial mindset to the franchise has turned many unsuspecting people into serious hobbyists that are almost dependent on the system.

Miniatures are supplied unpainted and unassembled, similar to an airfix model.  To collect, build and paint armies including things like countless models is not for your faint hearted!  Add to this the requirement to create scenery and model buildings and you start to appreciate enough time, effort and money that fans invest into Warhammer.
