If only I had?

Well it’s always easy to it back and wonder – if only I had done that then. Everything always seems so obvious in retrospect. For example – what if I had bought that property or even sold my property when the prices were so high?  Why didn’t I move out to Spain like I meant to? I was thinking of moving out to the United States several years ago – the exchange rate was about 2 US dollars per pound Sterling. Just Magical. I could convert dollars to pounds and get about 100% additional cash, given that 1 dollar in the States buys about the equivalent of 1 pound value in the UK. But it was not to be.

But then again who knows what would have happened had I moved out to New York. Good and bad things – I might have met the love of my life or I might have been runover in the New York underground. I guess the main thing is that I am still alive and in relative good health. I have thought of going again but really, to convert dollars to pounds now would be positive only if you’re moving from the US to UK. Then you get an exceptional exchange rate. You could  live like a king (well sort of!)

So what do I do now with my time in London? I work from home some of the time and watch rubbish television – although I do like David Dickinson in Deal or No Deal (an antiques betting programme) and also the emigration programme ‘a Place in the sun’ about moving somewhere sunny. I also rent dvds quite often and get them delivered to my door. Most films are rubbish these days though. Hollywood has long lost its charm.
